overview

Veridian at County Farm, based on Ann Arbor, Michigan, will be a 100% all-electric development, powered by solar, with no gas lines or combustion appliances of any kind. The project is in development.

On behalf of Thrive Collaborative with Human Scale Studio, we crafted a response to a request for proposal published by Washtenaw County (Ann Arbor), Michigan to develop a 13 acre site. The proposal was awarded in August 2017, and when built it will become Michigan's greenest neighborhood.

“Mayor Christopher Taylor and other council members expressed enthusiasm about the project known as Veridian at County Farm, which includes housing units ranging from detached homes to micro-apartments and several features designed to make it environmentally sustainable.

‘This is going to be transformative,’ Taylor said. ‘It’s going to be inspirational, I hope, to us as a community for what can be done, and I hope to others outside of Ann Arbor. It’s going to be a model and I can’t wait to see it come to fruition.’”
